Fish Auction Place (TPI) is a market that is usually located at the Fishery Port (PP) or Fish Landing Place (PPI), regardless of whether the fish are sold at auction. The requirements for TPI are permanent buildings, no relocation, sales coordinator, and approval from the authorized agency.

 

Indonesia is not only an agricultural country, but also a maritime country. A maritime country can be interpreted as a country with many islands in a large area. That's why Indonesians live not only as farmers but also as fishermen. The catch of fish and various other sea creatures are sold by fishermen in various locations. One of the places where fishermen sell their catch is at a fish auction.

There are several parties involved in the Fish Auction. The main parties involved include fishermen, buyers, and auctioneers.

In fish auctions, fishermen do not only appear as parties who deliver marine catches. The fishermen also act as sellers of marine catches and marine products. Fishermen offer price quotes from buyers who participate in fish auctions.

 

If there are no other parties, such as buyers, who are involved in the process, the buying and selling process will not occur. At a fish auction, the buyer bids on the item being auctioned for the desired price. In this process, each buyer offers a different price to the auctioneer. Buyers of marine catches participating in fish auctions are usually wholesalers who sell fish purchased at auctions elsewhere.

 

Another party involved in the fish auction is the auctioneer. The auctioneer's role is to direct the fish auction and help the buyer propose and agree on the price that the fisherman wants. During the auction process, each buyer quotes a different price. Now it's the auctioneer's job to help fishermen sell their catch quickly. The secret is to identify the buyer with the highest price who can buy the fisherman's catch.
